Job Description:
Our client, a technology leader and the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines and industrial gas turbines, seeks an attorney with 8 to10 years of experience to join its legal organization. Our client will consider a formal education and degree in law. Outstanding academic credentials and experience at a top law firm or at a manufacturing company are a prefer.
This attorney will have substantial autonomy and therefore must be able to work in a self-sufficient manner with clients, but also frequently will need to work collaboratively with other team members across disciplines. This attorney will be responsible for a broad range of technology transactions and operational issues, and for counseling management and employees on a wide variety of issues. Also advising the projects.

Position: Patent Attorney

Location: Beijing

Job Description:

Draft and prosecute national and PCT patent applications in and out of China
;
Conduct patent search, and advise research and development teams on IP
clearance;
Develop patent mapping, patent strategy and IP strategy for businesses;
Monitor technology trend and patenting strategies within the industry and
update R&D teams accordingly;
Coordinate tasks with business units and other country IP service
organizations;
Support patent litigation;
Give IP training to colleagues from other disciplines, and provide training
and leadership for IP paralegals.
Key Requirements:

Technical background in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering;
Minimum 2 years experience in patent drafting and prosecution in the areas
of Industrial Automation, power products, process automation or other
relevant areas;
Good English skills in drafting documents;
Willing to devote one’s career to IP.
