| Job Summary: The successful candidate will be a member of the Company’s legal department responsible for managing the day-to-day legal affairs of the Company’s China operations and acting as a liason with members of Company’s legal department in the United States. |
| Responsibilities: · Communicating with members of the Company’s legal department in the United States to keep them informed on the Company’s legal matters in China and advising them with respect to aspects of Chinese law · Negotiating and drafting contractual agreements, such as real estate leases, customer purchase agreements, supply agreements, and confidentiality agreements · Coordinating and managing outside counsel and litigation · Assisting members of the Company’s legal department in the United States with acquisition transactions in China, including conducting preliminary legal due diligence, providing advice on Chinese legal requirements and monitoring compliance with closing conditions and legal covenants · Overseeing compliance and corporate governance issues · Providing legal advice to the Company’s management team in China · Keeping informed of industry-specific regulations and ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place · Advising on employment matters |
| Skills/Experience Requirements: Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience as an attorney working in China for a corporate law department of a U.S. company or law firm. Experience working with U.S. publicly traded companies is preferred. English Communications Skills: Successful candidate must have excellent written and oral English communication skills and strong attention to detail. Adaptability: Successful candidate must be comfortable taking on assignments in a variety of different legal areas, including in the areas of litigation, corporate and intellectual property, and a willingness to learn new skills in areas where he or she does not have prior experience. Judgment: Successful candidate must have strong judgment. Strong Organizational Skills: Successful candidate must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks and be able to effectively organize data. Solid Partnering Skills: Successful candidate must be able to effectively interact with attorneys in the legal department, other employees and officers of the Company and with outside counsel. Ability to Work Independently: Successful candidate must be able to accept responsibility and to work independently in supervisor’s absence. |
